7th grade students were challenged to create a concrete poem from an object or animal that has significance to them. During the planning process, students brainstormed words that related to their selected object or animal. After create a contour line drawing of their selected object or animal, students filled their drawing in with related words. A watercolor wash was added at the very end.
Vocabulary:
Contour Line - Outline; line tracing the outer edge of an object
Concrete Poem - Image made up of words
Variety - Many different kinds; diversity within a group
Value - the darkness or lightness of a color
